I was using the Emjoi Optima epilators for years and they were great, so I decided to try an upgrade this time around. But the Emagine does not leave my legs nearly as smooth, in fact they feel spikey, like I had shaved (which really defeats the entire purpose of using an epilator instead of shaving). The Emagine fails to get the finer hairs (as most hairs become once you start epilating) and no matter how many times I went over the same spot, I could never get the same smoothness I achieved with the Optima. Emjoi products are usually great, but this one certainly does NOT live up to all the hype. I strongly recommend the Optima instead.

Fantastic at getting rid of those embarrassing chin hairs!!, July 4, 2010 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Emjoi eMagine Epilator (Health and Beauty) Pros: it really gets rid of the hair & less & less grows back & what does grow back is lighter & finer. It's especially fantastic for getting all those tiny chin hairs!
Cons: It takes longer to shave than a regular razor, so you have to go fairly slowly. My electric shaver was faster, but then, I had to use it every day.
I read a ton of reviews (mostly for the Braun 5270) & besides the pain a lot of women complained about, I had gotten the idea that you only had to use the epilator once every 4 to 6 weeks. This is not possible; as our hair does not all grow back at the same time. However, after the first couple of shaves, I only have to shave my legs & underarms about once a week to get the few hairs that grew in since the last shave.
I especially love using this on my chin hairs! I have spent over $1000 on electrolysis & that only partially worked. I was still plucking 20 -30+ chin hairs every morning! Now, I use the Emjoi every couple of days on 2-4 hairs... Read more
Thought it would save time, but didnt, March 7, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Emjoi eMagine Epilator (Health and Beauty) I used to have the older pink version with just one row of tweezers, but i hated how long it took (and it started sticking and burning up the motor, just needed cleaning but thought i would upgrade). thought having two rows would help the time. Sadly, only one really works at a time. its just too wide and doesnt touch all the leg surface. I also use an epilator for my arm pits, and this one wouldnt fit well! So i tossed it and bought a newer one-row. Works great. Very happy. Love Emjoi!
