Buy Me Because . . ., May 7, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Emjoi EpiSlim Hair Remover (Misc.) This was not as painful as expected. I'm used to waxing my chin and upper lip. I've never felt compelled to write a review before yet was happy to discover this tool. I don't think I could handle a larger Emjoi or covering another area such as bikini. I didn't feel any discomfort; just excitement to rid myself of unwanted hair in the delicate face region. I raved to a couple of friends already. My issue is hair that seems unflattering and growing more as I get closer to 35. Italian and struggling with hair removal options for about 14 years and finally a better method than waxing! I hope this helps someone else with a heritage known for this stubble not subtle problem. Again this could be the best size and gift for a close female friend or family member. I'm a fan of Emjoi because of their warranty that was included.

I saw the other Emjoi Epislim Hair Remover that had the plug, and decided on this one so I wouldn't have to deal with a cord. The upside is not having to deal with a cord. The downside is that once the battery begins to lose energy, the unit moves slower and makes the epilation a little more painful since it is plucking the hairs more slowly. Otherwise, I was impressed with how easy it was to use. A few tips - DON'T push the hand unit down. You just hold it close to the skin, move rapidly in circles while using the other hand to pull the skin taut. Also, for some reason, there's less pain if the hair is short (of course not too short where it doesn't have anything to grab). You can use it to clean up the bikini line, but don't think Brazaillian. I did use this on my legs, and noting that I'm not a fan of pain, it worked for me - I could deal the epilation over a smaller area at a time, but I imagine takes longer than the larger Emjoi Hair Remover.

My mom has been using her EpiSlim and raving about it for about 2 years and I finally decided to give it a try. While not perfect, it does make the task of getting rid of unwanted facial hair SO much easier.
I wouldn't say it's painful, but tweezing doesn't bother me that much. I will say that it gets easier the more often you use it though.
One of the biggest pros for me is that it does a great job of getting all of those hairs you can't see all the time - when using tweezers, I often ended up spending a lot of time trying to find the right mirror angle to get every individual hair - with this, you can just run it across the area and it will pick it up.
4 stars because it's not the be all, end all. I'm sure if you spent more money, you could get a fancier product, but this one does just fine for what it is.
